The fight against trafficking in Azerbaijan continues
Baku / 04.05.18 / Turan: In 2017, 42 facts of human trafficking, 6 facts of forced labor, 26 illegal actions in documents for the purpose of trafficking were recorded in Azerbaijan. Eight criminal groups consisting of 17 people have been detencted; 71 victims of these groups were identified (66 women and 5 men), reported, on May 4 in the parliament, the national coordinator for combating trafficking, the first deputy minister of internal affairs Vilayat Eyvazov.
According to the facts, 28 lawsuits have been filed; 33 people were brought before the court, out of which 29 people were convicted; 65 victims of trafficking are placed in a temporary shelter, they are provided with medical and legal assistance; 21 people are provided with work; 6 people are sent to work courses; 55 people returned to families.
In 2017, there were 570 beggar children working on the streets. 150 children were provided with legal and psychological assistance. -03D-
