The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the prosecutor's office reject the police's blame for the death of a Gazakh resident
Baku / 27.09.18 / Turan: The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor General's Office issued a joint statement on the death of Elmir Ahundov, a resident of the Gazakh region. On September 26, a photo of the body of this young man with traces of violence was distributed in social networks, and it was alleged that he was tortured to death in the Gazakh district police department. This was confirmed by the sister of the deceased.
However, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor General's Office claim that Ahundov's mother appealed to the district prosecutor's office on September 24 that her son was beaten by a Gazakh resident, Kerim Ahmedov. Amid the bustling scenes of this year’s COP29 climate conference, a protest against whaling and deep-sea mining, organized by a group calling itself the FINS Initiative, drew significant attention from delegates and observers.
