The National Council: Ilham Aliyev is responsible for the kidnapping M.Huseynov
The National Council of Democratic Forces (NCDF) strongly condemns the brutal police treatment of the blogger Mehman Huseynov, and has no doubt that behind this is the country's political leadership, reads the statement of the NCDF. Authors of the statement indicates that Huseynov recently published the incriminating video of expensive real estate of officials, oligarchs, which they purchased at the expense of appropriation of the country's wealth. These revelations have shown how the political leadership of Azerbaijan, bureaucratic and deputies sank in corruption. The NCDF says that no matter who ordered the kidnapping Huseynov, responsibility for this lies with President Ilham Aliyev. As a result of the atmosphere created by their impunity, transfer of criminal orders to the public administration system, the country's citizens, including members of the media are facing similar administrative vandalism. If the authorities want to prove the opposite, then on the level of the President Aliyev should be expressed attitude to the subject, and people involved in a crime against blogger should be punished. The NCDF regards the incident with Huseynov as another manifestation of hostility to the power of freedom of speech and civil society. Let us remind that on the evening January 9, Mehman Huseynov was abducted by unknown assailants in the center of Baku. A day later his lawyer said that he was detained by the police and brought before the court. Huseynov was convicted of disobeying police, and was fined 200 manats. After the trial, it became known that Huseynov was subjected to inhuman torture, and insulted by the police. -03D06-
