Turan calls on the Ombudswoman to ensure the implementation of the law "On freedom of access to information"
Baku/29.09.22/Turan: The Turan news agency appealed to the Ombudswoman Sabina Aliyeva in connection with the failure of state bodies to comply with the requirements of the law “On Access to Information.
The first two concern the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources. Since June 24, the agency has not been able to receive answers to questions regarding the illegal seizure of the Caspian coast by individual citizens. On this occasion, Turan has already applied to the Ombudswoman and, as a result, the answers were not received on the merits. In the next letter to the Ombudswoman, the agency asked the designated departments to provide specific answers to specific questions. Each department was asked eight questions. In fact, the ministries evaded the answers and thus contribute to the concealment of violations of the law. According to the Anti-Corruption Law, such actions are considered as acts of corruption.
The same act applies to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, as well as the state water company "Azersu" OJSC. Both departments, in violation of the law, do not respond to information requests and letters from the Turan agency. In the first case, the talk is about a violation of the social rights of employees of the Turan agency, and in the second, there is suspicion of large-scale corruption in the "Azersu" system.
Turan Agency is hopeful that the Ombudswoman will take all necessary measures within the framework of the Constitutional Law On the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan in order to eliminate violations of the law by state bodies in matters of informing legitimate information requests and appeals from citizens, the media and other entities.—0 —

Baku, often called the "Caucasian Dubai," is increasingly known for systematic violations of residents' housing rights. Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property. A minority, placing faith in the Housing Code, demand fair compensation from construction companies but often lose everything—both their homes and any form of recompense.
