Yunis Safarovs Sister Reports on Her Brothers Torture
Baku / 01.08.18 / Turan: "I was informed that today my brother will be transferred to the Office for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where he will be tortured in order to knock out the necessary testimony," Lala Safarova told the online edition of Meydan TV. Lala is the sister of Yunis Safarov, who committed an armed attack on the head of Gence, Elmar Veliyev, on July 3.
According to his sister, Yunis is wanted to testify that he acted as part of an armed group and this attack was planned in advance by the group.
She also noted that her brother is not allowed to meet anyone, including lawyers.
Recall that on July 3, Safarov shot a guard of the head of Gence with a gun and seriously wounded Elmar Veliyev himself.
The cause of the attack was the long and systematic insults of citizens of the city by Veliyev. According to one version, Veliyev insulted Safarov"s pregnant sister and banished her from his office.
A week after the attack on Veliyev, residents of Gence held a protest action, demanding to remove him from the city. During the clashes, two police officers were killed. -05D-
