INTERESTS OF KHANYSH AND NEGROPONTE COINCIDED
Last week was full of events, which impact to the formation on political situation in Azerbaijan. Officials call it strengthening of sovereignty and statehood.
I would like to stress four events, which show these processes.
The first one is Ilham Aliyevs meeting with shepherd Khanysh, the second one Ilham Aliyevs phone talk with balyg Khafiz, the third one Aliyevs conversation with U.S. Deputy State Secretary John Negroponte and the last one Ali Hasanovs statement that all processes in Azerbaijan are absolutely legitimate. All these events reflects the post-election atmosphere in the country.
It was the first meeting between Ilham Aliyev and shepherd Khanysh, who was favorite of his father Heydar Aliyev who used to meet with him at least twice a year as a tradition. In such a way the newly elected president demonstrates
Confirmation of priorities of domestic policy.
But conversation with the leader of Muasir Musavat party, Khafiz Hajiyev, caused tension. Heydar Babayev, Minister of Economic Development was the one, who, probably, disliked it most of all, because Khafiz stated in his televised interview that Babayevs son is homosexual and he get married in Britain.
After Ilham`s conversation with Khafiz Hajiyev many members of the government could think: What has happened to him? Khafiz disgraces the country, but on the next day President talks to him by phone? May be Khafiz doing that by Presidents consent? Oh no, it need to transmit money and leave this country as soon as possible.
One remembers of Stalins Academician Lysenko, who has been used against cosmopolite scientists. Lysenko has actively exposed harmful elements and pseudo scientists and outstanding scientists, including Academician Vavylov, genius of the 20th century, have been exiled by his efforts. The history repeats and Azeri government collaborates with a such people too.
As far as John Negroponte is concerned, it is absolutely clear. Political advisability has gained the upper hand, U.S. does not want to let Russia to have Azerbaijan. If U.S. criticizes elections, Russia will take way its strategic partner. Our American friends say we should not let Russia to have the Caucasus! Of course, we feel sorry for democracy, but struggle for justice demands victims and patience. In any case, democracy is our top priority and be sure guys, we will not let you alone! It also seemed Europeans like Javier Solana are absolutely happy with peaceful elections in Azerbaijan.
Ali Hasanovs statement was a logical end of the political picture of the week. He just stated - we do not care if you recognize elections, or not. Everything that is happening in Azerbaijan is legitimate and we are not going to prove anything to anybody. We have gas, oil and money and we do not care a damn about Europe and America!
This is what advanced and sovereign Azerbaijan looks like today!

On the eve of a large-scale flood approaching Baku, a disturbing incident occurred in the village of Buzovna, where a Lada Priora car fell into the ground, literally collapsing the road beneath it. The driver miraculously remained unharmed but vowed to seek justice, promising to file an official complaint with the prosecutor’s office against Azersu OJSC, the state-owned water supply and sewerage company, often associated with deeply rooted corruption.

In a bit of historic irony, powerful oligarch Bidzina Ivanishvili has managed to inspire rare unity across Georgia’s cacophonous political scene twice in his life. His money and influence forged the broad-based consolidation of opposition forces that brought him to power in 2012, and now, 12 years and three electoral cycles later, a similar pattern of opposition convergence could send him packing.

Russian authorities and pro-Kremlin influencers have been spreading false information about alleged Reporters Without Borders (RSF) research into Nazi tendencies within the Ukrainian military, which was featured in a viral video falsely attributed to the BBC. RSF exposes the inner workings of a disinformation campaign designed to justify President Vladimir Putin's war narrative.

I welcome respected media representatives, professional and honest journalists from places of detention. July 22 is an important day for journalists, mass media and teachers of Azerbaijan. 149 years ago, Hassan Bey Zardabi, the great educator, the most valuable thinker, the founder of our journalism, lit the first light for society to come out of darkness, giving humanity the newspaper “AKINCI.”
