What will Patrushev bring?
The visit of the Secretary of the Security Council of Russia seems to be of a traditional nature and there should not be any special surprises. Traditionally, Moscow and Baku check the clock in the fight against religious radicalism, terrorism and other external threats, among which the "machinations of the West" occupy a special place.
The desire to protect the authorities from attempts to carry out color revolutions and the exchange of experience in neutralizing the corruptive influence of America is a traditional theme of meetings between Patrushev and partners in Baku.
However, unlike previous meetings, now Patrushev will speak not with an old friend of Moscow - Ramiz Mehdiyev, but with the new Security Council secretary Ramil Usubov.
Of course, Usubov does not support George Soros, but it is important how the conversation goes, and who will participate in it.
There were gossips that last time, the assistant to the head of state, Ali Hasanov, set the tone at the meeting, and reported successes in the fight against the guides of harmful ideas from the West.
Therefore, it will be interesting to look at the composition of the participants in the meeting and statements on its results.
It is noteworthy that the program of the visit does not mention the possibility of Patrushev"s meeting with the president of the country.
If so, then this will become almost a sensation, because this has never happened before. In addition, it will add rumors to the reasons for the 10-day absence of the head of state in public.

I have always put the names of agencies, institutions, and enterprises in quotation marks, but I never did so for Turan. Whenever I saw Turan in quotation marks in texts, I removed them.

The preliminary report into the late December crash of an Azerbaijani passenger jet in Kazakhstan is a masterwork in delicate diplomacy, breaking no new ground in assigning responsibility for the tragedy, yet appearing to confirm that the plane was accidentally shot down by Russian air defenses without explicitly saying so. As such, the Kazakh-produced report has avoided, at least initially, provoking the ire of either Russia or Azerbaijan.
