A new phase in the "Terter case? Will the officials involved in the case be brought to justice?
Baku/19.12.22/Turan: Zahid Oruj, chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee on Human Rights, speaking at a plenary session of the Parliament on Friday, also touched on the "Terter case".
He stated that the acquittal of 19 persons convicted by decision of the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan for espionage in favor of Armenia is a triumph of justice. In so doing, he criticized the officials whose names were mentioned in the case. The MP added that each of the individuals involved in the case was responsible. The MP also suggested that the Military Prosecutor's Office should be abolished.
In turn, MP Ganira Pashayeva also mentioned those who had been acquitted as a result of the investigation into the 'Terter events' and accused those who had adopted wrong decisions against our servicemen. She said that those who took the decision to accuse innocent people of espionage, those who were involved in this process, should apologize not only to the soldiers themselves, their families, but to the MPs as well.
Politician Sahib Kerimli, one of those who keep the "terrorist case" on the agenda, speaks about the responsibility that the perpetrators of the "Terrorist Massacre" must bear in the "Tough Question" program. To his thinking, the atrocities and crimes that have become known as the 'Terter case' have not only taken place in the military units stationed in Terter.
"Similar events were also taking place in other areas. So far, 16 others from military units stationed in other areas are still in custody," he said.
Kerimli said that until recent days, officials had avoided contact with the media, unwilling to voice their views on the "Terter case" and the activities of the newly established investigation team leading the investigation.
"In general, this is understandable, as it is a very sensitive issue. It should be understood that this case is no longer a matter of law alone, it is already a political, and moreover, a geopolitical issue!" the activist said.
He believes that "if the Terter case is properly investigated and the political will is shown to take appropriate decisions, then many of the unresolved political problems in the country will find a solution".--0--

Azerbaijani pro-government media have unleashed an unexpected wave of anti-Russian rhetoric, including claims of espionage at the "Russian House" and accusations that the opposition National Council has ties with Moscow. Chairman of the National Council of Democratic Forces Jamil Hasanli dismissed the allegations as baseless, describing them as part of a smear campaign by the government to shift attention from its own close ties with the Kremlin.
