Mehman Huseynov about his detention
Baku/03.15.21/Turan: The next program "Difficult Question" of the Turan agency was devoted to the arrest of video blogger Mehman Huseynov on March 14.
The blogger said that he went to the Novkhany summer cottage to investigate the facts of corruption. I used a drone when filming. He recalled that he has been engaged in anti-corruption investigations for a long time, for what he spent two years in prison. He regarded the arrest on March 14 as a restriction of civil and blogging activities.
The police detained him and Ulvi Hasanli on their way back from Novkhany, and they were taken to the Absheron Police Department. From there, with blindfolded eyes, they were taken to another place, a few hours later they were dropped off at the Ganjlik metro station.
The law does not prohibit the use of drones. There is a requirement to obtain permission to import equipment, but this restriction does not apply to filming. The device used by Huseynov was imported into the country before the import restrictions were imposed.
The blogger believes that the fight against corruption can be waged without technical means; the main thing is desire and will. However, drones allow for efficient creation of visual evidence. Huseynov noted that he intends to sue the police. -05D-
