September 15 should be celebrated as the Day of the Capital, a historian
Baku / 13.09.18 / Turan: The liberation of Baku 100 years ago by the Turkish army was the result of a rare event in world history - manifestations of general Türkic solidarity, said Ph.D. in history Natig Mammadli in the interview to the program "Cətin sual" (Difficult question) of Turan news agency. In his opinion, the events of September 15, 1918 are one of the most brilliant pages in the history of Azerbaijani statehood and should be celebrated as a day of the capital. How commemorated is the memory of the liberators of Baku? Answering this question, Mammadli said that the memory of the Turkish military is immortalized in the memory of Azerbaijanis. "100 years have passed, we celebrate this historic day, remembering bright personalities. Their names are immortalized in our hearts, in our genetic memory. However, it is necessary to perpetuate them not only morally, but also materially," Mammadli said.
Thanks to the commanding talent of the 29-year-old Nur Pasha, the Turkish army triumphantly passed from Garamarjam (Goychay region) to Baku. The city was liberated at the cost of the blood of the heroic Turkish soldiers and the memory of the liberators must be immortalized at the proper level.
Liberation of Baku from Bolsheviks and Dashnaks became possible thanks to the heroism of the Caucasus and the Islamic Army, and diplomatic efforts Mamedemin Rasulzadeh, Alimardan Bey Topchibasheva, Nasibbeka Yusifbbeyli, who negotiated with the Ottoman government.
"If the founders of the Azerbaijan People's Republic could not achieve the liberation of Baku at that moment, then it would be impossible to do this against the backdrop of the First World War," Mammadli stressed. -06D--
