The salary of the President of SOCAR is 13000 manat, and what about the salary of employees?
Baku/02.09.22/Turan: According to the “Rules on additional payments to SOCAR employees” approved on August 19 by the head of the state oil company Rovshan Najaf, upper limits were set for monthly payments for professionalism, media reports. Thus, the income of the president of the company is set at 13.008 manats (6.504 manats base salary + 100% bonus), the first vice president - 12.360 manats, the vice president from 10,000 to 12,000 manats, the heads of departments and their deputies - from 6,000 to 11,500 manats, leading specialists from 3,500 to 4,100 manats, general directors, their deputies, chief engineers and other employees from 2,500 to 9,050 manats.
The new head of SOCAR also took care of the staff of the “Oil Industry of Azerbaijan” magazine. The salary of the editor of the magazine will be 8,147 AZN, deputy editor - AZN 7,155, chief accountant - AZN 7,155, and deputy chief accountant - AZN 6,262.
SOCAR has not yet commented on the information on the approval of the “Rules on additional payments to SOCAR employees”. Turan's request, sent to the SOCAR press service on August 26, about how reliable these data are, remained unanswered. Why did the salary increase in SOCAR affect only the management personnel and does not apply to other employees and workers?
Mirvari Gahramanli, the head of the Committee to Protect the Rights of Oil Workers, talks about this in the "Difficult Question" program.
According to Mirvari Gahramanli, the leadership of SOCAR with great annoyance, if not aggression, accepted the criticism by the Committee to Protect the Rights of Oil Workers of the order of SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf dated August 19, regarding additional payments to the wages of the company's management. Although the head of state, Ilham Aliyev in his speeches has repeatedly called for public control. “Turning to officials, President Ilham Aliyev has repeatedly stated that they should not avoid public control. “Public control, public activity, drawing the attention of state bodies to existing problems will help your work,” he said. And one of the activities of our organization is the analysis and monitoring of the mechanism for the implementation of laws in enterprises and organizations,” she said.
Gahramanli noted that after reading “Rules on additional payments to SOCAR employees”, the Committee immediately informed the management that they are contrary to the Articles 16 and 157 of the Labor Code.
"The Article 16 provides for non-discrimination in labor relations, but Mr. Jafarov works only 8-9 months and raises the salaries of himself and his team, which he brought to SOCAR,” the human rights activist says.
She also noted about an army of advisers in the company. “SOCAR has an extremely large number of advisers. Each vice president has a deputy, two advisers, an assistant, a secretary, a cleaner, etc. In fact, each vice president is considered a separate organization.
There are such positions in this list (the positions of the same advisors), that causes our indignation (members of the Committee for the Protection of the Rights of Oil Workers) and of every person, because these additional payments are not given for the position.
The Article 157 states that salary increments should be established not according to the position or specialty, but in accordance with skills and professionalism,” Gahramanli stressed.
“Why should an oil-producing worker receive a meager salary, and the bosses sitting in their offices receive by 10 times more?” the human rights activist wonders. She believes that the order should be changed.
