Why is the Popular Front Party is subjected to discrimination?

Baku/10.22.21/Turan: On October 21, a round table was held at the central office of the New Azerbaijan Party on the topic "Patriotic War: A grand symbol of the unity of the president, people and army."

The round table was attended by chairmen of parliamentary committees, leaders of political parties, military and political experts, NGO leaders and media representatives. However, as before, the authorities did not invite the main opposition forces of the country - the Popular Front of Azerbaijan and Musavat parties.

Why is the Popular Front Party is subjected to discrimination?

Seymur Hazi , the Deputy Chairman of the Popular Front Party, answered these and other questions in the  "Difficult Question" program.

According to the politician, the discrimination of the authorities against the Popular Front Party and Musavat is because  they initially showed rejection of the authoritarian forms of government in Azerbaijan. In particular, this was expressed in the fact that the PFPA and Musavat did not put their signatures on the statement under the joint statement on September 27, 2020 in connection with the large-scale provocation of the Armenian armed forces of 50 political parties operating in Azerbaijan.

Seymur Hazi said that  such a decision  was made not because they were not in solidarity with the struggle for the territorial integrity of the country and ensuring the security of citizens, but for the reason that they do not perceive themselves as Ilham Aliyev's soldiers.

Hazi also noted that the model of political dialogue proposed by the leadership, when any political subordination is violated, and for the refusal of this model, the parties are threatened with pressure and repression are unacceptable.

“Conducting the round table “Patriotic War: A grandiose symbol of the unity of the President, the people and the army” is astonishing. Only in the USSR were events celebrating Stalin held,” the politician said. “Why on earth should political parties take part in such events?” he wonders. –0--
