About 320,000 barrels of oil was extracted since beginning of commercial production and till suspending of the Kashagan field in Kazakhstan, reported press office of North Caspian Operating Company (NCOC).
“Approximately 320,000 barrels of oil has been extracted on the Kashagan field during the period since beginning of the commercial production till suspension, which is currently stored in the reservoirs on the territory of Bolashak plant,” NCOC press office said. NCOC said that the extracted oil will be refined only before sending for sale.
NCOC press office also reported that oil, which was in the oil pipeline connecting the island D with the Bolashak plant, is also placed into the reservoirs for crude oil on the plant.
“The pipeline is being cleaned to prepare it for careful inspection using a robot. Oil was ejected from the pipeline using the so-called scraper – rubber corks, which are pushed through the pipeline under gas pressure. This method is generally accepted practice in the oil industry,” NCOC press office said.—0—
