Agreement Reached on Purchase of Five Double-decker Passenger Trains
The exhibition Transport, Transit, Logistics TransCaspian-2015 became a place of agreement between CJSC Azerbaijan Railways and the company Stadler Rail Group on the purchase of five double-decker electric trains brand KISS.
Today, after signing the agreement, the chairman of the Board of JSC Azerbaijani Railways Javid Gurbanov told journalists that according to the agreement, the first two trains consisting of 4 cars will be delivered to Baku in June. They will temporarily operate between the Baku passenger station and the railway station near the metro station Koroglu for passengers during the first European Games in Baku. The remaining 3 trains are scheduled to deliver to Azerbaijan in January next year. It is assumed that these trains will connect Baku and Sumgait through the town of Khirdalan.
Regarding the value of the contract, Gurbanov said that it is about 60-70 million Euros. The procurement is carried out in the loan maturity of 20 years.
The number of seats on the train KISS is 396, including 84 seats of the business-class-category. ----08D
