Approved New Size of Customs Duties
The Cabinet of Ministers of April 26, approved the new size (http://goo.gl/JzOePm) of customs duties.
According to the decree of the Government under the number 168, the customs duties are determined for services rendered by the customs authorities and legal action. They are not intended to protect the domestic market and are not of a fiscal nature, the document says.
Customs duties are levied in connection with the implementation of customs control (customs clearance of goods, Customs examination of goods, destruction of goods under customs control), as well as customs support and storage of goods, etc.
When the customs control of goods and vehicles is outside working hours and outside their workplace, the customs fees are doubled.
For customs clearance of goods worth up to 1,000 manat will be charged customs duty at the rate of 10 manat. If the customs value of goods is up to 10,000 manat, the amount reaches AZN 50, and if it is AZN 100,000, it reaches 100 manat. The maximum amount of customs duties is 275 manat.
Customs clearance of goods in transit will cost 30 AZN.
Each page of the electronic customs declaration, providing full deployment of goods and vehicles under the customs procedure will cost 30 manat.
For the issuance of certificates for registration of imported into the territory of Azerbaijan buses, trucks and cars are charged customs duty at the rate of 20 manat.
Customs duties for the clearance of goods imported by natural persons in the prescribed manner for their own use (costing no more than $ 1500) are not provided. Also exempt from these fees are goods imported by grant agreements.
For 24-hour customs storage of goods that do not require special storage conditions, the amount of customs duty is 0.20 manat per 100 kg (gross weight), and for other goods - 0.50 manat.
Banks and non-bank credit organizations wishing to join the register of the State Customs Committee have to pay for that a customs duty in the amount of 2,000 manat. ----08D
