Baku Metro buys in Russia five new cars
In the coming days, Baku Metro will launch five modern cars, bought by the company "Transmashholding" (Russia). The cars have been delivered for test, andif they pass safety tests successful cooperation with Russian car builders will continue, according to Baku metro.
Metro intends to continue to buy modern cars that satisfy both aesthetic requirements and standards of construction of new plants. Russia's new types of cars 81-760/761, known as "Oka", are of higher quality and more comfortable for passengers.
However, passengers are not happy with intervals between trains. Metro is crowded not only during rush hours in the mornings and evenings. The interval between trains sometimes reaches 5-6 minutes, although it can be not less than 2.5 minutes.
According to the State Statistics Committee, in January-October this year, 15,940 passengers used metro, which is by a million, or 6.8% more than compared with the same period of last year. It should be emphasized that the official indices on passenger carriages by metro fell sharply after the tariff increase in October 2009. -08D-
