Construction of Airports in Fizuli, Kelbajar May Cost AZN 200 Million
Baku/18.01.21/Turan: This year, at the direction of President I. Aliyev, the foundation of an international airport was laid next to the ruins of the city of Fizuli liberated in 2020. “Demining work will be carried out. I gave an instruction that an international airport should be created in Fizuli this year, in any case the runway should be commissioned,” I. Aliyev said on January 5. The second new airport will be built in Kelbajar or Lachin - the location is being specified.
The President pointed out the importance of Fizuli airport for foreign tourists to visit the city of Shusha. The Khojaly airport is located near this city, where Russian peacekeepers have built a temporary military settlement for themselves from mobile trailers. The distance between Shusha and Khojaly is 25 km, or half an hour by car.
And from Fizuli to Shusha you will have to drive for more than 4 hours, breaking 222 km of the road. Under these circumstances, the choice of Fizuli as the closest flight point with further road traffic to Shusha suggests that the return of the Khojaly airport to Azerbaijani control is not too short, at least in the first five years of the Russian army's negotiated presence in Karabakh.
The cost of building new airports was not reported. There is no published information in the public domain, as well as the exact figures for the construction costs of all airports in Azerbaijan have not been published, although other data (passenger traffic, area) are known.
Turan managed to find information on the construction of the second runway of the Nakhchivan airport in 2019. The price of an object that meets international requirements is 50 million manats. In 2006, the airport in Ganja was reconstructed. The cost of the work is about 67 million manats.
Since the construction of the airport in Fizuli is carried out from a zero construction cycle, so will Kelbajar (Lachin), and such work is much more expensive than reconstruction, and then we will conditionally accept the final cost of one international airport at 100 million manats. Two new airports will cost 200 million manats. –0—

In recent days, there have been claims that bread prices in Azerbaijan have risen. Social media users report that the price of bread has increased by 5-10 qepiks. According to consumer complaints, it is difficult to find weight information on factory-produced bread, commonly known as "zavod çörəyi" in Azerbaijan. In many cases, bread packaging does not include weight details. Similarly, bread sold at smaller bakeries and tandir houses often lacks information apart from the price.
