Exports of Agricultural Products Increased by 20.7%
In 2016 Azerbaijan exported abroad agricultural products in the total amount of USD 426.1 million, 20.7% (USD 73.1 million) more than in the previous year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture.
Export of vegetables amounted to 162.8 thousand tons, 35.6% more than in 2015. Revenue of the exporters (USD 129 million) increased by 40.7%.
In 2016, fruits and berries from Azerbaijan were exported at the price of USD 1,131.7, USD 140.1 less than in the previous year. The volume of fruit exports amounted to 215.3 thousand tons (+ 24.4%).
Last year, Azerbaijani farmers exported 16.5 thousand tons of barley at 155.2 per ton.
Exports of raw tobacco amounted to 2,218 tons (USD 7.9 million), 14.1% more than in 2015.
Azerbaijan also exported 14.6 thousand tons of cotton (USD 24 million), 11.1% more than in the previous year. The export value of cotton (USD 1,643) rose by 11.8% over the year. ---08D
