First Email Exchange with Georgian Signalers
The first international land mail exchange was conducted between Azerbaijan and Georgia. The project was implemented in the border crossing Siniq Korpu.
As the site of LLC Azerpoct said, the step was taken in the framework of the agreement between the national postal operators of the two countries.
Exchange is made based on the decision of the Azerbaijani-Georgian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation and on behalf of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
Under the contract, the exchange will be done twice a week. Organization "Azerpoct" hitherto performed by the International Ground mail exchange only with Iran.
Recall that the first post office opened in Azerbaijan in 1818 in Ganja.
Production Association Azerpoct was founded on 29 September 1999. Today it brings together 74 branches and units, 144 postal agencies, and 1,513 post offices. - 17D-
