German company presented feasibility study of project of upgrade of gas supply network of Baku and Absheron peninsula
At the end of last week German E.ON Ruhrgas company has presented feasibility study of upgrade of the gas supply network of Baku and Absheron peninsula in Azerigas, gas transportation and distribution company of SOCAR. The company has been working on the feasibility study since the end of October 2011.
SOCAR press office reported that Aber Hajiyev, General Director of Azerigas company, spoke about importance of upgrade of the gas system of Baku and Absheron peninsula for development of the country's economy. He added that demand in gas in Baku and Absheron peninsula till 2030 were taken into account in the feasibility study.
After the presentation Azerigas specialists started discussions.
* On October 28, 2011 Azerigas company and German E.ON Ruhrgas AG company signed the agreement on preparation of feasibility study of upgrade of the gas supply network of Baku and Absheron peninsula. According to the agreement, E.ON Ruhrgas had to work out feasibility study, which will envisage reduction of gas losses to minimum, considering growth of population, long-lasting development of industry, growing demand in natural gas and expanding of the existing gas distribution network.-0--
