Import of Coffee Fell by 0.8%
In the first half of this year, Azerbaijan imported 682 tons of coffee (including fried and roasted coffee), which is 5.5 tons or 0.8% less than in the comparable period of 2014 year. At the same time, official importers of costs increased by 14%.
According to the State Customs Committee, in the first half of this year Azerbaijan imported from abroad, 35.9 tons of roasted and raw coffee (caffeinated or not) totaling $ 174.5 thousand.
In addition, it imported 646 tons of ready-to-drink coffee, which was estimated at Azerbaijani customs amounting to $ 1 million 767 thousand.
Thus, 100 grams of roasted and raw coffee was declared at the border for US $ 0.48, and ready-to-drink coffee - $ 0.27 cents.
According to the State Statistics Committee, in January of this year, the retail price of 100-gram cans of coffee in Azerbaijan amounted to 3.72 manat in June - 3.90 manat. This is about 10 times more than is made in the Azerbaijani customs.
Officially, in the first half of the year Azerbaijan imported coffee from Switzerland (12.4 tons), Singapore (84.1 tons), Malaysia (298.5 tons), Russia (147 tons), Turkey (14.6 tons), Ukraine (29, 6 tons) and other countries.
Coffee importers in Azerbaijan are Ltd. FBCO (brand of coffee Gliria Geans), LLC ASSAM (Beta Caffito), LLC Aztrade (Jacobs, Carte Noire), LLC Gilan-Ulker Trading (Ulker), LLC Coffee Planet Azerbaijan (Coffee Planet), LLC Nimex (Lavazza), Nestle Azerbaycan (Nestle) and NUR (MacCoffee).
In previous analyzes of the coffee consumption market in Azerbaijan the news agency Turan, referring to the World Resource Institute, noted that the average annual coffee consumption in the country is underestimated about 140 times. Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN.
