Imports of Perfume Grew Fivefold
In 2016, Azerbaijan supplied 1,830.5 tons of perfumes and toilet waters, that is 5.3 times higher than in the previous year, the State Customs Committee (SCC) told Turan.
Only in the last three months of last year, imports amounted to 781.7 tons of perfumes.
Perfumes come mainly from China (1,074.4 tons), Russia (168.7 tons) and Turkey (167.3 tons). 111 tons of perfumes and toilet waters were received from France last year.
Importers declared imports of perfumery in the amount of $ 16.6 million, 7.7 times more than in 2015.
The import value of one ton of Chinese perfume was worth $ 1,912, Russian - $ 5,068, and Turkish - $ 6,152.
French perfume is recorded at the Azerbaijan Customs at $ 54,552, Italian - $ 59,734, British - US $ 70,940, US - $ 82,481, Bahraini - $ 109,361, and Swiss - $ 147,960. After this was removed to 100-gram tubes, the declared value of one such tube of French perfume amounted to $ 43.3 in 2016, and Dubai's perfume -$ 4.4.
Last year, Azerbaijan exported to Dubai 5.62 tons of perfume, 3.9 times more than in 2015. It generated $ 243.6 thousand.
Experts estimate the trend of growth of imports and exports of perfumery with their legalization. However, so far none of the participants of foreign economic relations and the SCC has been charged and punished for such criminal phenomena. -00----
