Baku/19.02.14/Turan : In January of this year in Azerbaijan volume of production in the processing industry sector decreased by 1.7 %. However, on the non-oil refining production has increased by an average of 13.3% , the State Statistics Committee .

Last month, the volume of processing enterprises amounted to 542.5 million manat. Of these, 210.3 million manat accounted for food production . Manufacture of food products increased by 0.8%.

The rate of production of goods processing industry slowed oil production cuts by 11.7 %. In January, the share of petroleum products in the structure of the processing was 31.4% ( 170.4 million manat).

The volume of production of machinery and equipment ( 32.2 million manat) almost doubled . Metallurgy (AZN 30.7 mln) in January rose by 45%. Produced were 31,700 tons of steel casting ( 3.3 times) , 27,400 tons of reinforcement ( +22.7 % ), etc.

In January, decreased the production of beverages ( 7 million manat or minus 23.9 %) , rubber and plastic products ( 4.5 million manat - 43.8 %) , motor vehicles and trailers ( 0.5 million manat - 81%) , leather and leather products and footwear ( 523,000 manat - 70%), paper and paperboard ( 743,000 manat - 60%) , electrical equipment (3.5 million manat - 28.6 %) and etc.

As it could be seen from the statistics , the processing industry is underdeveloped in Azerbaijan. Non-oil gives only 13 % of the industrial output of the country . The government has announced the "Year of Industry", planning to develop industrial and technological parks in Baku , Sumgait , Ganja and Mingachevir.

It is noteworthy that despite the operation of Sumgait Technology Park (STP) since 2009, where since then operates 17 power companies , engineering , etc. , little is made ??in the industrial picture of the country . Anyway, any surges in the industry over the years have not been observed . - 08B-
