Javid Gurbanov: Baku-Tbilisi-Kars to Work from Next Year
Baku hosts the 44th session of the ministerial meeting of the Organization of Railways Cooperation (ORC).
Judging by the statements of the Chairman of CJSC Azerbaijani Railways Javid Gurbanov, the Georgian section of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway is actually completed and now the agenda includes landscaping of the adjacent territory and work in Turkey. If agreed, this section will be put in operation by the end of the year.
"That is, in the beginning of next year, the recipients will be able to get safe conditions for the delivery of goods in a short time and much cheaper than it is now. The project is regularly negotiated with different countries on the facilitation of cargo transportation through the territory of Azerbaijan, which will lead to significant increase in traffic," he said. --17D-
