Lending in Banks of Azerbaijan

Over the last month in 6 out of 32 operating commercial banks the situation with the issuance of loans has changed.

So, AFB Bank that suspended the issue of loans some time ago resumed this. Currently, the annual rate of consumer loans in the bank is 26-30% in mantas and 13-17% in USD (previously 16-18%). AFB Bank’s annual percentage rate of business loans in manats is 18-30% (previously 20-25%), and 8-16% in dollars (previously 10-16%).

Bank of Baku issues consumer loans, increasing their annual interest rate from 24-30% to 26-32%. The rise in price is due to the completion of the campaign with a discount of 2% announced last month. Bank of Baku recently stopped issuing business loans to its customers.

Loans issued to individuals in Bank BTB rose in price. The bank increased the annual interest rate on loans issued to private farms from 30-36% to 32-38%.

After a long break in lending, Nikoil Bank started to give out business loans in US dollars. The bank issues loans to entrepreneurs at an annual rate of 12-16%.

Rabita Bank has frozen lending business for a certain period. But against the background of the rapid fall in the value of the national currency the possibility of funding entrepreneurs is considered again.

Uni Bank has changed annual percentage rate of business loans from 14-28% to 18-24%.

In total, loans are issued by 20 banks in Azerbaijan. Of these, 17 give both consumer and business loans. One bank (Bank of Baku) produces only consumer loans and two banks (Nikoil Bank and the Baku branch of the National Bank of Pakistan) issue only business loans.

Consumer loans in manats are issued at an annual interest rate of 15-38%, and in dollars – at 13-38%. Business loans in manats can be taken at an annual rate of 16-30%, and USD loans - at 8-24%.
