More than 677,000 Entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan
The State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan counted 677,231 entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan as of January 1.
Of these, the majority (576,906) is individuals, which is 11% more than the year before. More than a third is busy repairing cars and household goods - 201,151, almost half (102,942) deal with wholesale and retail trade, while transport and storage facilities involve 72,808 people. Tourist accommodation and catering employs 34,432 physical persons registered at the tax office, the processing industry employs 15,711, and brokers and realtors are 10,998 people. In the area of ??recreation and entertainment activities there are 7,705, in construction - 4,989, in the system of administration and support services - 2,557 people. Private financial and insurance activities engage 1,462 physical persons, and abstract "other services" engage 80,413 people.
In the country there are 100,325 legal persons (+ 6.1% to 1 January of the previous year). For the year there were registered 6,266 legal entities, while 504 discontuned their activities. The balance is as follows: 9,561 companies are engaged in agriculture, with 5,799 processing enterprises and 10,641 construction companies. Moreover, in these segments there has been a steady growth of players. Most employment is recorded in wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and other consumer goods - 25,937 entities.
The share of private enterprises accounted for 87,985 legal entities, including 5,781 foreign entities, 1,850 joint entities, 10,646 state-run entities and 1,694 municipal organizations.
In the capital there are 53,448 companies and 194,795 individual business people. --17D-

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
