New Law on Advertising Promulgated
The Azerbaijani President signed a decree on the entry into force of the new law "On Advertising". The previous version adopted in 1997 has lost its force.
Experts note the tightening of the rules and requirements for copyright, unfair, inaccurate or hidden advertising, or advertising refutation. In addition, the concept of social advertising and sponsorship has been expanded and advertising various goods and advertising means, as well as public oversight and self-regulation in advertising has been especially marked.
The author of the document is the MP Vahid Ahmadov, who believes the new edition meets the realities in the tightening of social responsibility and respect for the norms of the state language and tightens the advertisement of alcoholic beverages.
Under the law, social ads will be broadcast on television and radio between 09:00 and 00:00, and advertising of alcoholic beverages of more than 5 degrees - from 23:00 to 7:00. --17D-
