Number of Those in Need for Remittances
In the first quarter of the year the population of Azerbaijan implemented 551.25 thousand remittances through LLC Azerpoct (+ 47% to April 1 last year). According to the national postal operator, in monetary terms, this amounts to 42 million 689.59 thousand manat (+ 6%). This means that money at the population is no more than in 2014, but the number of those who need it increased.
In addition, post offices received and sent 1 million 860 thousand 169 pieces of written correspondence (+ 18.9%) and 1 million 437 thousand 112 (+ 26.1%) registered letters.
Significantly (+ 65.8%) increased the level of acceptance of international parcels – 251,082 and telegrams – 41,077 (+ 6.1%).
LLC Azerpoct was created on August 15, 2009 (previously state-owned enterprise). On April 16, 2010 the Central Bank issued a limited license to the LLC for the provision of banking and financial services. --17D-

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met today with Ahmed Moallim Figi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia, at the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry. This meeting followed a discussion held the previous day between Figi and Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Mikail Jabbarov.
