The National Depository Center (NDC) after a 7-month interruption disclosed information about the state of the securities market in Azerbaijan. According to the generalized monthly statistical reports, in December 2015 and January 2016 it recorded record levels of transactions on purchase and sale of shares concluded on the OTC platform.
In December 2015, 50 transactions regarded purchase and sale of securities in the amount of 132 million manats, and in January this year there were 18 transactions totaling 92.4 million manats. From February to April of this year, the purchase and sale regarded securities totaling 21.4 million manats.
Part of the volume of transactions in the OTC stock market accounted for transactions of purchase and sale of 10% of the shares of Holcim (Azerbaijan) owned by JSC Azerbaijan Investment Company.
Note that BSE from February 2016 for unknown reasons has suspended the provision of data on transactions in securities outside the stock exchange. Azerbaijan is probably the only country in the world, where information about OTC transactions with securities is considered private. ----08D
