Particpants of Vilnius summit: Azerbaijan has strategic role as supplier of energy resources to Europe
EU has promised the Eastern Partnership member-states to continue construction of the South Gas Corridor, upgrade the gas transportation system of Ukraine and create a single energy market, reads the declaration of the Summit of the Eastern Partnership program concluded in Vilnius on November 29, 2013.
“The participants of the summit have welcomed the work aimed at improvement of mutual energy safety, including through development of the gas transportation system , stage-by-stage integration of the countries-partners into the European energy market and development of the trans-border sale of energy resources,” reads the statement.
During the Southern Corridor project the participants of the summit have confirmed their intention “to upgrade the South Caucasian and trans-Adriatic gas pipelines” and create “a new infrastructure connecting the EU with the Caspian region.” The participants of the summit have mentioned Azerbaijan’s strategic role as a supplier of energy resources to Europe.
The declaration of the Summit also reads the EU does not only intend to upgrade Ukraine’s gas transpotation system, but also develop the reverse gas deliveries through Slovakia and “Adriatic gas corridor” connecting Croatia, Hungary and Ukfraine.
The final Declaration of the summit also mentioned an important role of Belarus as a transit country, which ensures deliveries of energy resources to Europe. The participants of the summit have thanked Ukraine, Belarus and Armenia for performing stress tests of the European nuclear power stations, reported http://itar-tass.com.

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
