Here is the interview spread by PASHA Bank with the bank's CEO Farid Akhundov on current recruitment, selection methods and professional relationships in a working environment.

- Mr. Akhundov, for 5 years on the market PASHA Bank has become one of the leading players in the banking sector, not only in Azerbaijan but also the entire region. Where do you see the main component of success?

- I have always been convinced that the main advantage of our bank is a professional and coordinated work of the team. In 2007, already long ago, this was our main goal to create a team that is capable of providing competitive not only in local but also international markets. Not without pride, I can say that we have achieved many of the goals and were able to find such experts and to create a professional environment in the Bank, in which each employee was able to realize the maximum number of its objectives. Now, after 5 years, we clearly understand that without this it would be impossible to provide quality service to our customers.

I note that the bank, in which we work, is constantly changing: Implementation Development Strategy 2012-2014, which we developed to imply, among other things, presumes regional expansion and the expansion of the country. Because of this we are now optimizing the process and recruit new talent.

New directions of the bank, including work on the stock market, enhancing customer service, representing the small and medium businesses, as well as the strengthening of human resources departments such as IT-Infrastructure, Management Information System (MIS), risk management, creation and management banking software to optimize and improve the service quality of external and internal customers, are the main causes of the new recruitment.

There are people who believe that a job in the company, representing the financial sector of the country, can only be obtained by "an acquaintance."

This does not in any way relate to our Bank. During his career in the banking sector of Azerbaijan, our human resources policy has not changed - we take new employees to work, based on a fair and transparent way. Its technology recruitment of professional staff, including on the Internet, we also tested in our first foreign office - PASHA Bank Georgia, which will soon open its doors to our customers.

In my last interview, I said that we have no discrimination on grounds such as race, age, religion, gender or disability. Conditions are the same for everyone - both young professionals and for the bankers with experience. As for the selection process, it is carried out in three stages. After you fill out the questionnaire on our website, candidates are invited to participate in an online test, which takes place at a predetermined time and the candidate at the time of its delivery can be in any corner of the world. Successfully passed the first stage, we invite you to the new test, in which candidates are present in person. After passing this stage, examinees receive information about the location and time of the interview.

It is important to note that in order to work in the bank are not required to own banking experience or a degree in economics or finance. For us, the main thing is that a potential employee should know a foreign language, be technologically a "savvy" person, and have an unlimited desire to learn. Such a range of knowledge and experience allows us to build an entirely new corporate culture.

  - How does PASHA Bank support the professional and personal development of its staff?

- By itself, a team approach to the management of our Bank is based on principles such as orientation to the needs in new areas or volumes of work by reallocating the workforce on the basis of job rotation, combining the functions and responsibility of employees, encouraging employee initiative to address the major strategic goals. Knowledge of the needs of employees and their strengths, understanding what drives their decision-making, helps create the right conditions for them. All of this creates an atmosphere in our working team and gives confidence to employees of our Bank in the future.

In this regard, a special policy, according to which each of us has the opportunity to develop their professional skills and gain experience as a means of participation in internal training courses held by experienced employees of the Bank and invited experts from other countries, so in foreign seminars, training courses and training programs that are conducted in the UK, Switzerland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Hungary, UAE, Italy, Russia, Singapore and many other countries.

We also try to meet those of our employees who want to get a full training in their specialty in foreign institutions. This special program was developed and implemented in the Bank a couple of years ago, in her part to our employees the opportunity to receive preferential loans for Masters degree at prestigious international universities.

- You mentioned the same conditions for employment of both young and experienced professionals. Yet, what are the chances of graduates without work experience to join the team PASHA Bank?

- We can do the work of young professionals who have the necessary knowledge for a specific position, and, importantly, the desire for continuous professional and personal development. If you touch the issue of employment of university graduates, it can be noted that in our team and represented employees, who to this day successfully combine and study in a master's and a job. In my opinion, it all depends on the candidate - as he will be motivated to optimize and efficiently allocate their strength and capabilities.
