PASHA Bank Board member meets with journalists
Within the second phase of the program for the development of the local business journalism implemented by PASHA Bank in partnership with the British Council. So, a known journalist and consultant Dan Mason arrived in Baku.
As reported in the bank this week the Program participants had the opportunity to learn modern techniques used in online journalism, to get acquainted with the tools and methods of seeking the required content of a professional blog, etc. In addition, D. Mason briefed local journalists with Western experience of using social media in their work for immediate coverage.
Also as part of the training media representatives met with the Chief Operations Administrator, Board Member of PASHA Bank Emil Hajiyev. The bank representative told the journalists surveying predominantly economic issues about the current developments in the banking sector, the principles of the market's example PASHA Bank, Bank of Communications with local and foreign media, and answered their questions.
Recall that the program for the development of the local business journalism consists of several specialized media courses under the guidance of professional training of teachers from abroad and journalists' tours of local media in the UK, in which the scheduled meetings and exchange of employees of the Azerbaijani mass media with journalists of leading newspapers, magazines and other media in the country.
The main goal of the project is to create a core group of journalists covering the economic issues that are acquainted with many years of experience of European colleagues, can use their skills in a more professional information and analysis of events in the country and the economic transformation of various business processes.
Pasha Bank was created in June of 2007 and operates under license number 250 of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan Republic dated 28 November of 2007. Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
