Scope of the poultry and broiler production in Azerbaijan is tax exempt (except land tax). Imports of poultry equipment exempt from customs duties and taxes. Through the National Fund for Entrepreneurship Support soft loans totaling 98 million manat were provided to 39 farms. With these funds, high-tech enterprise established annual production capacity of 55,000 tons of meat, 84 million pieces of tribal and 164.5 million shares of commercial eggs. In 28 of these farms production has been commissioned and this year the remaining 11 companies will start production.
As a result of the measures taken poultry production in the country increased by 50 % and reached in 2013 97.3 thousand tons, of which 55,000 tons accounted for broiler farms. There is also an export potential of the industry.
According to the State Statistics Committee, in 2009-2012 the volume of imports of poultry meat in Azerbaijan declined from 34 thousand to 12 thousand tons. At the same time the annual consumption (about 105 tons ) remained at the same level. In 2012, egg production was 1226 million units ( 21.3 %). And last year, the volume of its production exceeded 1.4 billion.
Large broiler and poultry farms in Azerbaijan are located the Shabran, Siyazan , Imishli , Hajigabul , Khizi , Neftchala and Absheron districts.
According to the state program on providing the population with food products in AR, in 2015 the internal demand for poultry products must be 100% satisfied by local production. - 08D-
