Production of Mineral Waters Rising
In 2014 Azerbaijan bottled 76 million 90 thousand liters of mineral water, the State Statistics Committee told Turan. The share of mineral springs of Nakhchivan accounted for 96% of the production.
According to the State Statistical Committee of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, last year there were produced 73 million liters of mineral waters Badamli and Sirab. The production increased by 3.5%.
Industrial bottling of mineral water in Azerbaijan is also carried out at the sources in Gakh, Kedabek and other districts. However, officially, their share in industrial production is negligible. According to statistics, in 2013 Kedabek produced 1 million 816 thousand liters (+ 46.7%), and Gakh made 1 million 689 thousand liters (+ 0.7%). For comparison, in 2005 the enterprises of mineral water located in Gakh made approximately two times more output - 3 million 384 thousand liters.
These data show that the sector of mineral waters is dominated by individuals engaged in entrepreneurial activities without creating a company. In 2013, the share of legal entities was about 15 million liters of mineral water. Of these, 9 million 941 thousand liters accounted for enterprises of Nakhchivan. In that year, Ltd. Gemigaya Mineral Sular (an exclusive user of the mineral water source Badamli entering into the alliance of companies Gemigaya Holding) announced filling 3 million 773 thousand bottles of various capacities. Data for the last year has not yet been made public.
This year JSC Sirab (part of the group of companies Veyseloglu) produced 4 million 226 thousand bottles of mineral water. According to the company, about 514 thousand bottles of carbonated water were exported to Georgia and Russia. Total sales amounted to 918.1 thousand manat, according to the company itself.
According to the State Customs Committee, last year exported were 986 thousand liters of mineral water at a total declared value of $ 818.5 thousand. Exports decreased by 2.4%, but the cash flow increased by 14.4%.
In 2014, from abroad were delivered 10.5 million liters of mineral water, which is 3.2% higher than the figure for 2013. A third of the product was purchased in Georgia - 3 million 535 thousand liters. Approximately the same number (3 million 345 thousand liters) of mineral water comes from Russia. A liter of mineral water imported is issued by the Azerbaijani customs at an average of $ 0.64. A year earlier, this figure was slightly higher - $ 0.67.
The retail sales of 1 liter of local mineral water cost 0.55 manat, Borjomi - 1.20 manat, and 0.5 liter of Essentuki costs 1 manat. 08B
