SCC Chairman Discusses Green Corridor for Production of Local Agricultural Industry with Russian Ambassador
On the initiative of the Chairman of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee Aydin Aliyev a meeting was held with the Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vladimir Dorokhin.
According to SCC, the highlight of the discussion was to provide a "green corridor" in Russia for local agricultural products on the basis of the protocol on mutual recognition of the results of customs control for a number of commodities, signed last year. The agreement removes all theoretical questions for supply of agricultural products in this mode, but from time to time, for whatever reasons, products from Azerbaijan are delayed at the border with Russia, including perishable goods, and thus farmers face losses.
At the meeting other issues were also discussed, including cooperation of customs authorities in the framework of international organizations. --17D-
