SOCAR: Azerbaijani gas deliveries to Europe to begin at the end of 2019
Azerbaijani gas deliveries to Europe and Turkey as a part of Shah Deniz Phase 2 project will be carried out according to the schedule, Rovnag Abdullayev, President of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) said yesterday at the event devoted to the Oilman Day.
“All the works to build the Southern Gas Corridor are going on according to the schedule. I think that deliveries of Azerbaijani gas as a part of the Shah Deniz Phase 2 project to Turkey are scheduled for the first half of 2018 and to Europe for the end of 2019 and they will begin according to the schedule,” he added
Abdullayev also said that the pipes welding works are going on in Azerbaijan and Georgia and construction of compressor stations started in Georgia as a part of the project to expand the Southern Caucasian pipeline.
“Construction of the Trans Anadolu gas pipeline (TANAP) is ahead of schedule and construction of Trans Adriatic gas pipeline (TAP) is going on as well,” he added.
SOCAR President also added that despite the financial problems and the world economic crisis, the company continues implementation of some other big projects, which include construction of a new gas and oil refinery and petrochemical complex (OGPC), reconstruction and upgrade of the existing oil refineries and petrochemical capacities and construction of the carbamide plant and two other plants of SOCAR Polymer.
* In May 2015 administration of TAP consortium announced that the pipeline must be put into operation in December 2020.—0—

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
