Statoil discovered new light oil beds in Norwegian sea
For the third time in three months Norwegian Statoil oil and gas corporation has discovered high quality light oil beds in the Norwegian Sea. This time the resources have been discovered on the evaluation well 6407/8-6 on the Snilehorn section, approximately 15 km away from Norne field, reads the company’s press release.
According to the preliminary evaluation, the extractible resources could total 55-100 million barrels. “We are very happy with the results of our program of geological exploration works near the field in the Norwegian Sea this year. During three months we have discovered three fields Norne, Asgard and Njord, total volume of extractible resources of which reaches 86-166 million barrels of oil equivalent, said Gro Haatvedt, Statoil Vice President for Oil Production in Norway.
Statoil is the operator of the exploration well 6407/8-6 with 35% share. The partners of the company are "GDF SUEZ E&P Norge AS" (20%); "E.ON E&P Norge AS" (17.5%); "Core Energy AS" (17.5%); "Faroe Petroleum Norge AS" (7.5%) and "VNG Norge AS" (2.5%).

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
