TANAP construction to be limited to a special 38 meters-wide strip
As a part of construction of 1890-km-long trans-Anadolu gas pipeline (TANAP), which will be used to export Azerbaijani gas to the European markets, it is planned to build a 36-meters-wide “construction corridor” crossing Turkey from the East to West.
Turkish Emlakkulisi.com portal reported that according to the experts’ evaluation of construction impact on environment, it is necessary to build the “construction corridor “ from Ardagan province on the border of Turkey with Georgia to Kyrklareli province on the border with Greece to minimize negative impact on environment.
Everything possible will be done to limit the construction to a 36-metres-wide strip. Special devices will be used to compute the highest seismic risk zones as well as the zones with possible landslides, falling rock or flood, which will be avoided by the builders.
The pipeline construction will begin in 2015 and end in 2018. The carrying capacity of the first part of TANAP will be 16 billion cub.m. of gas a year.—0—
