TANAP General Manager: Turkey could buy up to 21 billion cub.m. of Azerbaijani gas
Baku/01.05.15/Turan; Turkey could increase purchase of Azerbaijani gas, which will be transported via the trans-Anadolu pipeline (TANAP), by 3.5 times by the moment it reaches its full capacity in 2026, Reuters quoted Saltuk Duzyol, TANAP General Manager, as saying.
“When the carrying capacity of the gas pipeline reaches 31 billion cub.m. of gas, Turkey could buy up to 21 billion cub.m. The purchase will be made both by BOTAS state pipeline company of Turkey and private Turkish companies,” Duzyol said.
He also added that the Turkish Stream project offered by Russia could provoke new price competition.
“In mid-range term we could, probably, see price competition when the both pipelines reach Frakiya. The competition is a good aspect for the consumers in Turkey and Greece,” said TANAP General Manager.
He said TANAP will remain a priority project.—0—
