Till end of 2015 150 km of TANAP gas pipeline to be welded
Until the end of this year over 150 m of the pipes of the Trans Anadolu (TANAP) gas pipeline will be welded, reported TANAP consortium.
State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) President Rovnag Abdullayev told journalists that over 50 km of the gas pipeline will be welded in 2015.
The consortium reported that after completion of construction TANAP will become the longest pipeline (1850 km) in Turkey, Europe and Near East with the diameter of 56 inches.
At present 5,500 people are involved in the TANAP project directly and 10,000 people indirectly.
At present the works are done on the sections where the pipes will be laid. The contractors have to lay the section 800 km long.
The engineering, deliveries and construction management works continue in London, Bombay, Ankara, Kars, Erzurum, Erzinjan, Sivas and Yozgat.
“Among the companies providing deliveries and engineering service there are international companies such as Baosteel Europe GmbH, Italian Sicim and Valvitalia, US General Electric Oil & Gas and ABB, Belgian Solar Turbines and German ILF.
The engineering and project management works will be done by the Australian Warley Parsons company and the primary engineering works by the British Bechtel company. The evaluation of impact on environment will be done by the Italian Golder Associates and British ERM company.—0—
