Turnover of Money Transfers for the First Half Amounted to Almost $ 1 Billion
Turnover of money transfers in the banking system of Azerbaijan made in January-June 2012 the equivalent of 784.7 million ($ 998.2 million). Compared with the corresponding period last year, it's 143.6 million or 22.4% more. The volume of revenues was 94.2% higher than the sum of shipments, which in turn increased by 52.4% compared to the same period last year.
In June, turnover transfers made 149.4 million manat, 16.3% up from June last year.
According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, the average amount sent increased from AZN 877.3 in January to 962.3 manat in June and the average received - from 594.7 to 600.6 manat. The number of sent transactions grew from 44,000 to 51,200, and the number of transactions received - from 113,000 to 166,800.
The total number of recorded remittances was 1,173,000, including those received - 872,200. -15B -
