Italy has reduced the import of Russian gas by more than 2 times

As part of COP29 activities, the joint venture SOCAR-UNIPER plans to launch a steam generator at the "Ethylene-Polyethylene" plant. Rashad Huseynli, head of Uniper's representation in Azerbaijan, stated that this significant project aims to improve energy efficiency in the “Azerkimya” industrial complex. The project is currently undergoing final tests, with an official inauguration planned during COP29.

The gasification level in Azerbaijan is approaching 97%, a high figure compared to other countries, stated Azar Mammadov, the CEO of SOCAR's "Azerigaz" production association, during the "Caspian Gas Industry Forum" in Baku. He asserted that Azerbaijan surpasses countries like the Netherlands, Georgia, Italy, and the UK in terms of gasification.

Azerbaijan will implement tax incentives for projects aimed at environmental restoration and renewable energy production, Ahmed Ahmedov, head of the monitoring department for legislation and business relations at the State Tax Service said.

The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the COP29 president, and the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan have announced the first Investment Forum on Energy Transition for Central Asia, to be held in Baku on November 15-16.
