Kyrgyz Authorities Urged Ankara to Mind Its Own Business
The Turkish opposition may commit a coup in Kyrgyzstan, as it has already been able to penetrate into the government of the republic. This was said by the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu to Radio Haber Turk.
He called Kyrgyzstan "a base of Gulen supporters in Central Asia", referring to supporters of Fethullah Gulen. "Supporters of Gulen have also penetrated the Kyrgyz leadership and can make a coup," he said.
The Minister also said that he informed his Kyrgyz counterpart about Gulen supporters in the country and gave the list of them.
An answer to such an emotional statement by Cavusoglu came from Bishkek, which can be regarded as "mind your own business." E.g., the MFA of Kyrgyzstan called the statement by the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu “incorrect”.
"We are sympathetic to the concerns of Turkish officials. But at the same time we would like to remind that Kyrgyzstan, in particular, is an independent sovereign state, which is itself in a position to understand and decide what is good and what is bad for it. We believe it at least incorrect, when the Minister of Foreign Affairs of a country indicates another state on the need to take certain steps, while using the language of ultimatums and blackmail," the statement by the Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan says.
"The Kyrgyz side is studying it carefully, and if necessary, it will take appropriate and timely measures. There are certain legal regulations, obligations of the parties and other issues, but we emphasize that all this is exclusively an internal affair of our country," the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry stressed. -02D-
