Azerbaijan’s metallurgical industry entered a contradictory phase at the beginning of 2026, marked by simultaneous growth and decline. According to the State Statistics Committee, the total value of metallurgical production and fabricated metal products reached 518.3 million manats in January–April. During the same period, primary metal production increased by 9.6 percent, while the production of finished metal products declined by 17.9 percent. This divergence indicates weak development of the industry’s value chain: while the production of raw materials and semi-finished products is expanding, the final-product segment is shrinking.
