105 Married People Detected AIDS from January 1 to August 1, 2018
Baku / 13.09.18 / Turan: From January 1 to August 1, 2018, 93,138 people underwent medical examination before marriage. The press service of the Ministry of Health released information on the detected diseases, according to which 2,773 of the examined people were carriers of thalassemia. 242 people had syphilis, and 105 people had AIDS.
From June 2015, 457,422 people underwent a medical examination before marriage. Of them, 16,247 people had thalassemia, 1,575 had syphilis, and 387 had AIDS.
In 2015, amendments were introduced to the Family Code in Azerbaijan, according to which, starting from July of the current year, people wishing to marry must undergo a physical examination in compulsory order. A list was made of the diseases to be examined. These medical examinations are free of charge. -0-
