Ali Hasanov: President Mursi - Political Prisoner Number 1
Certain circles in the West do not stop trying to put pressure on Azerbaijan. However, the Azerbaijani mass media play an important role in resisting these efforts. This was stated by Assistant to the President, Ali Hasanov, speaking at an event in Baku State University on the role of the press in the country.
"Some circles want to control the world and the world countries, including Azerbaijan. However, we oppose these aspirations and pursue an independent policy. In this regard a major role is played by our media," he said.
"Today, the media are not only independent, but also help the state confront the Western circles to put pressure on Azerbaijan and worthily respond to the anti-Azerbaijani publications," Hasanov said.
Today in the West, Muslim countries are presented as terrorist. The West is actively seeking worldwide political prisoners, ignoring the legally elected President of Egypt, Mursi, who is on trial and whom they want to execute. "President Mursi is a political prisoner number one in the world, but he does not suit someone," Hasanov said and called on the Azerbaijani mass media to actively deal with criticism against Azerbaijan.
He accused the Azerbaijani journalists living abroad of serving the interests of the Western community and of being used for anti-Azerbaijani campaigns. "They have formed anti-Azerbaijan networks, which the Azerbaijani mass media have to resist," Hasanov called.
"They are jealous that in our country there is tolerance and we develop successfully. Many people do not like it. Therefore, the society and the media should be alert. We will not allow them to push Azerbaijan into chaos," Hasanov said. -02D-
