Aliyev on Military Construction and Results of April War
The main costs of the state budget of Azerbaijan are military ones, and thanks to this, the national army is among the armies most affluent logistically. President Ilham Aliyev said this, speaking to the military.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the apartment building for the military on the occasion of the national armed forces, Aliyev said the army building in Azerbaijan is carried out purposefully and systematically, and the created military-industrial complex produces military products of more than a thousand names, some of which are exported.
At the same time, in recent months, the country imported new weapons and equipment. "We buy military products in many countries. That is, we are not dependent on a single source," Aliyev said.
The fighting ability is growing and the moral and psychological atmosphere in the army is very positive. The patriotic spirit and discipline are at a high level and the April fighting once again confirmed it.
"For many years, our lands are under occupation. Unfortunately, Armenia violates the norms and principles of international law, the regulations and resolutions adopted by international organizations are not fulfilled and remain on paper, and international law, in fact, does not work. In this case, we certainly need to step up our military power. Along with this, of course we will continue diplomatic and political efforts to resolve the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict," Aliyev said.
He called the April fighting a great military victory. "The Azerbaijani Army liberated some of our lands from the occupation, including several segments of the Agdere, Fizuli and Jabrayil districts, and regained control of several strategic heights there. I am sure these events have become a serious signal for Armenia, as well as for those involved in the matter. In fact, the desire of Armenia is not a secret. They want to make this process endless and maintain the status quo," Aliyev said. -02D-
