Armenia Reselling Russian Oil Products to Neighbors
Yerevan / 06.07.14 / Turan- ArmInfo: In 2014, Armenia became an exporter of oil products. Thus, compared with the previous year, the export of petroleum products from countries increased tenfold, reaching 378 tons instead of 815.8 kg in 2013. This is according to the Customs Service of Armenia.
In value terms, exports of petroleum products in 2014 amounted to $ 242.5 thousand instead of $ 13.2 thousand in 2013.
Most of all oil was imported from Russia - 223.3 thousand tons (68.7%) instead of 98.3 thousand tons in 2013.
Oil products were exported to Iran - 192.5 tons (51%) and Georgia - 185.5 tons (49%).
The situation with the export of oil products from Armenia looks strange, because this country does not have its own oil, but there is an intergovernmental agreement with Russia on duty-free oil supplies.
In 2014, Armenia received under the agreement: heating oil - 45 tons, jet fuel - 47 thousand tons, diesel fuel - 144,000 tons, tar oil for bitumen production - 25 thousand tons, gasoline - 136 thousand tons, and lubricating oil - 390 tons.
In 2015, Armenia will receive 136, 200 tons of gasoline, of which 120 thousand tons - from Russia. In addition, it is provided to receive 150 thousand tons of diesel fuel (the entire volume of Russian production), 47 thousand tons of jet fuel (8 thousand tons of Russian production) and 29.2 thousand tons of oil sludge for the production of bitumen (full Russian production).
It is noteworthy that the Armenian-Russian intergovernmental agreement on 2 December 2013 does not provide for re-export of products. -02D-
