Armenians Must Renounce Separatism, Recognize Azerbaijan’s Integrity - Ilham Aliyev
Baku/26.02.21/Turan: Armenia must recognize the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and abandon separatism in Karabakh. Now meetings are being held between the officials of Armenia and Azerbaijan, and this gives reason to hope for progress. President Ilham Aliyev said this at a large press conference for foreign journalists on February 26.
At the same time, he admitted that Armenians are not always consistent and sincere. “Let them not try to deceive us. We must keep the promises and agreements made,” he said.
Touching upon the future population of Karabakh, Aliyev stressed that it is impossible for Armenians to live there outside the Azerbaijani state. “There is no communication between Armenians and Azerbaijanis yet. There is no Azerbaijani population there yet, but when the Azerbaijanis return, communication will begin. This is inevitable and sooner or later people will find a common language,” Aliyev said. -02B-

He criticised his predecessor Nursultan Nazarbayev and actually accused him of provoking mass riots in the country in January 2020.

The disruption, marking the end of a decade-long transit route, is expected to heighten competition in the global liquefied natural gas (LNG) market and drive up prices for alternative energy sources.
