Authorities Allow Rally in Distant Settlement of Lokbatan (UPDATED)
Baku / 12.02.20 / Turan: The executive branch of Baku revised its decision to refuse the opposition to hold a rally on February 16.
The city administration proposed the rally organizer - the Musavat and Republican Alternative parties and the D18 movement, as well as two independent candidates to hold a rally at the stadium of the Neftchi sports club in the village of Lokbatan, 20 km away from the capital.
This was reported to Turan by the head of the D18 movement, Ruslan Izzetli.
According to him, in the morning the city authorities refused to coordinate the rally.
However, in the afternoon he was again invited to the executive branch.
“The head of the socio-political and humanitarian department Elmin Imanov provided me with a response to our notification. It notes that consent is given to the rally not in front of the May 28 metro station, but at the training base of the Neftchi sports club in Lokbatan,” Izzetli said. -0-
